Fawkner Park is 100 Acres (40 Hectares) of open parkland designed to bring casual spectators and sports people together. Tree-lined pathways criss cross the open fields so an ambling flaneur may observe the action on the field. This is the legacy of a design that dates back to the 1890s – before track suits and sports department stores. This is a very big park and yet those travelling along St Kilda Road may rarely be aware of its existance.

Fawkner Park has multiple sports grounds, pavilions, tennis courts, two children’s playgrounds and a community centre. Sports include cricket, softball, football, tennis and rugby.
